Meet the face behind book number 2!

Jorgie-Rose is almost three years old and the inspiration for our second book  ‘ I’m a Big Autism Brother, what’s your Superpower ‘

Jorgie is such a happy little girl who takes joy out of even the smallest things. She loves playing in water and being on her swing.

Jorgie was diagnosed with Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, Sleep difficulties and Global Development Impairment. Alongside this, Jorgie is none verbal and finds it difficult to communicate her needs to us. This can be quite upsetting for everyone at home as we all just want to meet her needs as best as we possibly can.

We are working together to ensure Jorgie remains happy and achieves her potential! Jorgie is on her own path and we can’t wait to see where it takes us.

Background behind this book

Hello everyone me and my 9 year old son, Max, have written a book all about autism and behaviours.

Just a little background info we have three children Daisy who is 10 Max who is 8 and Jorgie-Rose who is almost 3. Daisy is diagnosed ASD, ADHD and SPD and Jorgie-Rose ASD none verbal, SPD and GDI. When Daisy was first diagnosed we found lots of helpful books and things to explain to Daisy however, we didn’t find very much to help to explain to Max who was 6 at the time. That is where the idea of this book came from, it is through the eyes of Max and focus’ on his feelings and worries around Daisy and autism.

Our aim is to hopefully help as many children like Max as possible and get them to understand it is normal to have lots of different feelings in this situation and that autism is something to be celebrated and each person is unique.

We are hoping that the book raises enough money to publish a second book which has been written and focuses on Jorgie-Rose being none verbal and trying to help siblings understand their behaviour. (This is that book) Checkout their website at autismbrother.com
